  Fred Payne Clatworthy (1875 - 1953) was a renowned photographer - with photos appearing in National Georgraphic,and on the covers of Farm Journal, the Literary Digest and Sports Illustrated.  He was also a merchant in Estes Park, town leader and 2nd mayor.  Clatworthy was also the first person to have a telephone line in town!  Clatworthy promoted tourism in Estes Park with his traveling show of autochromes - (1st natural color film process patented in 1907 by the LaMiere Brothers in France).  Clatworthy used his his photographs to promote the establishment of Rocky Mountain National Park.
